Responsibilities

Professional librarians (Stacy Nockowitz and Pat Killoren) only:
  • selection and acquisition of materials, including online resources specific to the Middle School and donated materials.
  • creation of new catalog records as well as copy cataloging.
  • selecting and sending specifications and barcode ranges to vendors.
  • weeding and withdrawal of materials.
  • make changes to bibliographic records.

Permissions

Changing of patron records is permissible by members of the Columbus Academy Library Department and the Columbus Academy IT Department only.
Circulation of items may be performed by trained parent volunteers.
Processing of new materials may be performed by trained volunteers, with the exception of MARC record creation and copy cataloging.
Inventory may be performed by trained volunteers under the supervision of library professionals.
